Documentation for Privately owned vessels

In order to be eligible for documentation, the following criteria must be met:
  1. The owner is a U.S. Citizen
  2. The vessel measures Five (5) Net Tons (boats of 25 feet or more usually fulfill this requirement)

  • Provides a chain of ownership
  • Simplifies procedures when travelling abroad
  • Simplifies marking requirements
