GSP & ATPA Renewal UpdateMay 13, 2002The following information was reported by our sources in Washington.(NCBFAA). Prospects for the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) bill brightened last week when Senate and White House leaders reached agreement on the controversial issue of health insurance for U.S. workers displaced by trade. This week, the Senate will continue debate on the TPA measure, which also will extend and expand the Andean Trade Preferences Act. GSP extension is also expected to be added to the bill prior to Senate passage |
