Ultimate Consignee Reporting

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has initiated new requirements for the reporting of the ultimate consignee on the entry summary. Failure to provide the required information may result in the detention of a shipment.
CBP defines the ultimate consignee "as the party in the United State to whom the overseas shipper sold the imported merchandies."
Formal Entry Requirements
The entry must have the complete information for the ultimate consignee including federal tax identification number or social security number in addtion to the name and address.
Informal Entry Requirments
Informal entries will be processed, if only the name and address of the consigneed is used after being transmitted to ABI.
