CUSTOMS ISSUES ULTIMATE CONSIGNEES DRAFT
On November 29, 2000, the Customs Service published a draft directive on it's Website "clarifying" the requirements for providing the "ultimate consignee" identification at the time of filing entry and entry summary. The draft states that if an "importer number" is requested for release, the entry will not be "paperless." Comments should be faxed to Ms. Jennifer Englebach at (202) 927-1096 by December 19, 2000, with copies to the an NCBFAA Customs Committee.
