CUSTOMS ISSUES ULTIMATE CONSIGNEES DRAFTOn November 29, 2000, the Customs Service published a draft directive on it's Website "clarifying" the requirements for providing the "ultimate consignee" identification at the time of filing entry and entry summary. The draft states that if an "importer number" is requested for release, the entry will not be "paperless."
