CHANGE IN VISA REQUIREMENTS

Effective January 1, 2005
In accordance with new rulings passed by the Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agrreements, the Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will no longer impose quotas on textile items from WTO member countries. In addiion CBP will no longer require textile visas, ELVIS transmissions or GAL certification from these countries.
The following countries are effected:
Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Fiji, Guatemala, Haiti, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Poland, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Uruguay.
All other countries will be subject to textile quota restraints and VISA requirements that are presently in place.
Important Note:
Items shipped before Jan 1, 2005 will still be subject to existing quota and VISA requirements.
