Labor Lock-out at West Coast Ports(9)
Possible Resolution Today
October 9, 2002 9:17 AM
Following an order by the federal court, the west coast ports are scheduled to resume operations at the opening of business today.
If you have cargo on these vessels please be patient, as operators expect it to take as long as 6 weeks to clear up the back log.
This is only a temporary resolution, while the two parties meet with federal mediators as required by the Taft-Hartley Act, which was invoked as a means to end the strike.
Please check back often for update on this situation..
